Virginia Beach plays host to a vibrant community of artists and performers. Start your day with breakfast at Catch 31, then take a leisurely walk to the nearby 21st Street Art Gallery where you can pick up prints of seashore and beach scenes along with original artworks by local artists. When you’ve finished, head over to the Contemporary Art Center of Virginia; a great place to see unusual collections and special exhibits. After lunch at Soya, take a turn around the shops at 31Ocean for imported arts and crafts from Europe and Asia, and other fun gifts. Then head down to the Old Coast Guard Museum for a glimpse of the past on Virginia Beach. In the evening you might consider taking in a performance at the Little Theater of Virginia Beach -- they perform throughout the season -- or you can spend some time taking in the Boardwalk’s outdoor sculpture and shows. Any description of the arts scene we could make here would only scratch the surface. See our Events and Entertainment section to explore the Beach’s creative side in greater depth.
